These fantastic clocks combine two of our favorite vintage brands – Metamec and Honiton Pottery!

Produced in limited numbers in the 1970’s by Honiton Pottery in Devon, these came in a variety of high glaze colourways, generally with a single colour or sometimes two tone body with coloured scallop cutouts around the edge. They had a German Kienzle W175 battery movement, (Taking a 1.5v C cell), measured approx 230mm across, 50mm deep and weighed a hefty 1.4Kg. The backs were indented with the message ‘This clock is an original design for METAMEC by Honiton Pottery’.

Some were seen with a Metamec and a Quartz sticker on the front, we wouldn’t usually recommend removing labels but the provenance on these clocks is on the rear and they definitely look better without.

Price wise these can be picked up from £15 up to £30 for good examples. Aside from the obvious possibility of non-functioning movements, chips or crazing, the only other thing to wear on these clocks is the white paint on the raised hour markers, but generally these clocks are pretty solid!

Please email us any pictures you have of your own clocks and we’ll post them here 🙂
